Novobrdo is one of the Kosovo’s municipalities, which has often mentioned as the best example for the harmony among communities living there. This is one of the key reasons also which has inspired many international and local political leaders and policy makers to visit this municipality. In all these visits, it has been reiterated that Novobrdo is the best example of a multiethnic cooperation among all communities living there and other municipalities in Kosovo should follow this example.

This documentary explains how and why citizens are searching for better places to live, especially citing lack of schools, lack of water and especially unemployment.

What I want to say is that Novobrdo should not be used only as a good example of multi-ethnicity and the story ends here. This is why I was inspired to name the documentary ‘AND ONLY THAT’. Novobrdo continues to be a good example of multi-ethnicity AND ONLY THAT.

Investments are very low in this municipality whereas poverty and unemployment force inhabitants of Novobrdo to search for a better life in other places. Unfortunately, there not many open options in this exhaustive search for a better life.

Inhabitants of Novobrdo (Albanians, Serbs, Ashkali) are the main focus of this project and through their experiences they portray their daily difficulties as well as their relations with other communities

Novobrdo is one of the municipalities in Kosovo, often having have served as the best example for the harmonious life that the communities living there, manage to lead together. This fact has inspired leaders and policy makers, both local and those from the international community, to transform this municipality into a success story. In all their visits to Novobrdo; all remembered to emphasize the fact that this small city should be a model to the rest of the municipalities; the perfect example of a multiethnic cooperation and living together.

This documentary shows how and why citizens of this small town are hunting for better places to live in and how they all seem to face and share the same difficulties, highlighting the lack of educational facilities, lack of water supply and unemployment.

It has been my intention to portray through this documentary that multiethnicity is only one of the many features that characterize Novobrdo. The story does not end there… And this has been my inspiration to title this documentary ‘AND ONLY THAT’. Novobrdo continues to be a good example of multi-ethnicity AND ONLY THAT.
